Description
Cagrilintide is a synthetic long-acting analog of human amylin, engineered with substitutions conferring physical stability at neutral pH and a γ-glutamic acid C20 fatty diacid side chain supporting albumin binding. In vitro and rodent-model research literature has characterized its interaction with the amylin receptor complex (calcitonin receptor + RAMP1/2/3) and the calcitonin receptor and downstream cAMP signaling pathway activation in CNS and pancreatic tissue (Kruse et al., J. Med. Chem., 2021). Murine model hypothalamic and adipose-tissue investigations have examined its association with amylin-axis satiety-pathway signaling cascades (Larsen et al., Diabetes Obes. Metab., 2021). Findings in in vitro / animal studies do not necessarily translate to other systems.
Cagrilintide is a long-acting acylated amylin analog.
