AOD9604 is a synthetic analog of the C-terminal lipolytic domain of human growth hormone (hGH 177-191) with an N-terminal tyrosine addition, originally engineered to dissociate the lipolytic activity of hGH from its growth-promoting and insulin-antagonizing functions. In vitro and rodent-model research literature has characterized its interaction with adipocyte β3-adrenergic receptor signaling pathways and lipolytic cascade activation independent of hGH receptor engagement (Heffernan et al., Endocrinology, 2001). Murine adipocyte-model investigations have examined its association with cAMP/PKA-mediated hormone-sensitive lipase pathway activation patterns (Ng et al., Horm. Res., 2000). Findings in in vitro / animal studies do not necessarily translate to other systems.

AOD-9604 is a modified fragment (176-191) of human growth hormone with an additional tyrosine residue.
