Description
Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide developed within the Russian peptide bioregulator research program, designed as a short-chain analog of the pineal polypeptide preparation epithalamin. In vitro and rodent-model research literature has characterized its interaction with telomerase enzyme activity and chromatin-organization signaling pathways in somatic cell preparations (Khavinson et al., Bull. Exp. Biol. Med., 2003). Murine and avian-model investigations have examined its association with pineal melatonin-axis signaling pathways and gene-expression patterns in aged tissue preparations (Anisimov et al., Mech. Ageing Dev., 2003). Findings in in vitro / animal studies do not necessarily translate to other systems.
