Description
GHK-Cu is a copper(II)-chelated tripeptide complex of glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, originally isolated from human plasma as a copper-binding factor. In vitro and rodent-model research literature has characterized its interaction with extracellular-matrix remodeling enzymes and downstream gene-expression programs related to collagen and decorin biosynthesis pathways (Pickart & Margolina, Int. J. Mol. Sci., 2018). In vitro fibroblast and murine tissue investigations have examined its association with TGF-β signaling pathway markers and antioxidant-response gene-expression cascades (Pickart et al., Biomed. Res. Int., 2015). Findings in in vitro / animal studies do not necessarily translate to other systems.
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine.
