Description
GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6) is a synthetic hexapeptide ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) agonist of the first-generation growth hormone secretagogue class. In vitro and rat-model research literature has characterized its interaction with GHS-R1a on hypothalamic and pituitary tissue and downstream phospholipase C / IP3 / DAG signaling pathways (Bowers et al., Endocrinology, 1984). Rodent-model investigations have examined its association with synergistic GHRH-pathway interactions and somatotroph cell signaling patterns (Smith et al., Science, 1996). Findings in in vitro / animal studies do not necessarily translate to other systems.
