Description

Thymosin β4 is a 43-amino-acid G-actin sequestering peptide that binds monomeric actin via its conserved LKKTETQ motif and modulates actin cytoskeletal dynamics. In vitro and rodent-model research has characterized its interaction with actin polymerization, endothelial cell migration, and the Ac-SDKP cleavage product (Crockford et al., Ann. N.Y. Acad. Sci., 2010). Murine and porcine in vivo studies have examined its association with cardiac progenitor cell migration pathways and PINCH-ILK-Akt signaling (Bock-Marquette et al., Nature, 2004). Findings in in vitro / animal studies do not necessarily translate to other systems.

TB-500 is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring 43-amino acid peptide thymosin beta-4.
