Description
ACE-031 is a recombinant Fc-fusion protein consisting of the extracellular ligand-binding domain of human activin receptor type IIB (ActRIIB) linked to the Fc region of human IgG1, designed as a soluble decoy receptor for the TGF-β superfamily ligands myostatin (GDF-8), activin A, and GDF-11. In vitro and murine-model research literature has characterized its interaction with myostatin and activin ligands and downstream Smad2/3 signaling pathway sequestration (Cadena et al., Sci. Rep., 2019). Murine skeletal-muscle investigations have examined its association with ActRIIB-Smad pathway-mediated muscle protein turnover signaling (Lach-Trifilieff et al., Mol. Cell. Biol., 2014). Findings in in vitro / animal studies do not necessarily translate to other systems.
